UpFront Engineering Simulation Ltd was formed in Oct 2007, by Michael Clapp as a consultancy services business and then in October 2010 a merger with 80/20 Engineering (founded by CAE veterans Sean Horgan and Ake Burman) was completed.
Our long history with the application of ‘UpFront CFD/CAE’ tools, CFdesign and NEi Nastran In-CAD helped us develop a range of dedicated services for the mechanical design community:

Autodesk®’s more recent acquisitions of Blue Ridge Numerics and NEi Nastran has resulted in UpFront Engineering Simulation being ideally positioned to support the implementation of Autodesk®’s range for simulation solutions.
Since our inception we have also been broadening our relationships with many other ‘UpFront’ CFD/CAE solution providers such as:
Simerics Inc who offer very fast, accurate and affordable CFD for a wide range of applications found within Flow Control and Thermal applications and also have a growing number of ‘CAD Embedded’ options.
Discovery SpaceClaim is a state-of-the-art ‘3D Direct modelling’ solution for Conceptual Design, Bid Modelling and CAE model preparation.
Discovery Live provides instantaneous CAE simulation results, tightly coupled with the Discovery SpaceClaim technology, enabling interactive design exploration and rapid product innovation.
CFturbo completes our UpFront solution offerings as a conceptual turbo-machinery design tool.
With UpFront Engineering Simulation being part of the 80/20 Engineering group, this also provides our clients access to a broader range of advanced simulation solutions and services including Fluid Machinery analysis, Advanced Flow & Thermal, Fatigue, Dynamics, Impact/Crash and other Multi-physics applications.
